Somatic Experiencing (SE)
is a body-based approach to healing the lasting effects of emotional and physical trauma. Developed by Dr. Peter Levine, SE supports the nervous system’s natural ability to self-regulate and return to a state of calm after overwhelming experiences.
Unlike talk therapy alone, SE focuses on building awareness of bodily sensations—known as the "felt sense"—to gently and safely release trapped survival energy. This gradual process helps restore a sense of ease, resilience, and vitality.
